Google Glass

"Time to go, Indika!"

A young woman sitting on the bench picks up her purse and sighs. Blinking to close the e-book rendered on her lens, she walks towards the park gates.

"In 20 paces, turn left!"

She wonders what it must have been like in her parents' day, without the constant voices guiding every step. It must have been nice for people to do as they wanted.

"Proximity reminder! Pick up coffee for Bob!"

Oh sure, it has its uses. But sometimes she wishes she could just be herself—whoever that is.

Sometimes, she feels more machine than human.
